Walk 7 red in Diagnose
5 plates — walk the one on the cabinet
First check
1 Watch one full try — do not reset
Write the York TM8T code. Watch inducer, HSI glow, valve click, flame, µA. The step that dies is the repair. Resetting only burns another try into a harder lockout. HSI, gas, rod, ground.
Expect: W1 → W2 → Limit
The rest of the walkthrough is Diagnose.
On the plates
- Watch one full try: inducer, HSI glow, valve click, flame, µA.
- Gas supply and manifold (low then high). Gas cock, LP tank, meter lock.
- Igniter 120 VAC and ohms. Open circuit is 12-red — if you have 7-red the igniter usually glowed.
- Rod, ground, and 9-red polarity if µA is near zero.
- HSI glow and 120 VAC, gas, rod µA, ground.
- HSI, gas, rod, ground.
