York
3 red
LockoutPS failed to close after inducer
96% trap / collector / PVC / inducer — same draft physics as TM9V.
Walk 3 red in Diagnose
5 plates — walk the one on the cabinet
First check
1 Prove inducer and the live code
Do not pull power — that clears the York TM8T active code. Write 3 red. Is the inducer spinning on this call? Silent inducer is not a pressure switch. This is Category I metal vent. There is no 96% collector or PVC trap to prime.
Expect: 120 VAC at the inducer on a heat call. Wheel turning.
If fail: 120 VAC missing → IFC / door switch / incoming power. Voltage + dead motor → inducer.
If pass: Inducer running + this code → trap, hose, switch, vent (step 2).
The rest of the walkthrough is Diagnose.
On the plates
- Inducer spinning? 120 VAC at the inducer on the call.
- Dump the condensate trap and open the collector. TM9V 96% will not make pressure with a full trap.
- PVC intake/exhaust — bird screen, ice, long run, wind, slope back to the collector.
- Hose cracked or on the wrong port (low vs high).
- Trap, collector, hose on the correct tap, PVC ice/wind, inducer 120 VAC.
- Two PS. High-fire-only 3-red is the high hose / vent capacity.
- Inducer spinning and 120 VAC.
- Chimney liner, cap, common-vent tables, bird nest, wind. Spillage at the inducer inlet is a fail.
