Walk 11 red in Diagnose
5 plates — walk the one on the cabinet
First check
1 Airflow before you touch the limit
On York TM8T a limit is airflow or overfire until proven otherwise. Do not replace the limit first. Filter, blower wheel, A-coil, and the heat-speed setting for THIS motor (tap, model plug, or communicating CFM — not a sister SKU chart). Blower running? VS harness or tap motor actually spinning.
Expect: Rise in the rating-plate window. Static vs this cabinet’s blower chart.
The rest of the walkthrough is Diagnose.
On the plates
- Blower actually running on the heat call? VS motor harness and IFC CFM setting.
- Wheel off the shaft, seized motor, or a door-switch/fuse that killed the motor while the limit was open.
- Cycle 24 VAC only after airflow is restored. Repeating 11-red is not a bad limit.
- Is the tap motor actually running? Capacitor / ECM module / wheel.
- Heat tap too low for this cabinet + coil.
- Cycle 24 VAC only after airflow is real.
- Blower running? VS harness or tap motor actually spinning.
