Goodman

E2

Lockout

Low-fire PS open

Inducer is on low and the low-fire switch will not close.

Walk E2 in Diagnose

9 plates — walk the one on the cabinet

First check

1 Prove inducer and the live code

Do not pull power — that clears the Goodman GMEC96 active code. Write E2. Is the inducer spinning on this call? Silent inducer is not a pressure switch. Inducer 120 VAC and spinning.

Expect: 120 VAC at the inducer on a heat call. Wheel turning.

If fail: 120 VAC missing → IFC / door switch / incoming power. Voltage + dead motor → inducer.

If pass: Inducer running + this code → trap, hose, switch, vent (step 2).

The rest of the walkthrough is Diagnose.

On the plates

  • Inducer spinning? 120 VAC at inducer on a W1 call.
  • Collector box, inducer outlet, and condensate trap — this 96% unit will not make pressure with a full trap.
  • PVC intake/exhaust (bird screen, ice, long run, wind).
  • LPS hose cracked or on the wrong port (low vs high tap).
  • Inducer 120 VAC and spinning on the heat call.
  • Trap, collector, PVC intake/exhaust, LPS hose on the low tap.
  • Shared-data / CFM settings do not create draft. Fix the vent path.
  • Inducer 120 VAC and spinning.
