Read Infinity / Evolution wall-control errors

The wall control is the diagnostic — Last 10 events in English. Board two-digit is backup when the screen is blank. C is still required. D is not W. 59TP6 will not become Infinity because you hung this thermostat.

Before you start

  • Do not convert Infinity to 24 V by landing W on a random terminal and walking away. You lose modulation and can open the 24 V fuse (code 24).
  • Two wall controls on one ABCD bus is a comm fault, not a new IFC.

On the truck

  • Infinity / Evolution wall control (SYSTX-class) still powered
  • Meter for R to C and ABCD landing
  • Indoor rating plate: 59MN7 vs 59TN6 vs 59TP6

Steps

  1. 1 Last 10 events — English first

    Service / Last 10 events on the Infinity or Bryant Evolution control. It names indoor, outdoor, pressure, limit, ignition, blower, or communication in English. Photograph the list before you clear it. The board two-digit (13, 14, 24, 31, 32, 33, 34, 41) still flashes in the blower compartment — believe the wall text when the screen is alive.

    Expect: Event list written. Indoor vs outdoor named.

    If it fails: Blank or rebooting control: measure R to C first. Infinity still needs C. 0 VAC at C is not a dead IFC.

  2. 2 COMM indoor vs COMM outdoor vs mismatch

    No communication with indoor: A/B polarity, D not landed on 24 V, one control on the bus, furnace IFC alive. No communication with outdoor: the Greenspeed / Infinity outdoor is on the same ABCD — a 24ACC6 contactor unit will never talk. Equipment mismatch / ID: indoor size or outdoor model in setup does not match the bus device. That is a setup, not a pressure switch.

    Expect: Which device dropped, or a setup ID that matches the plates.

    If it fails: A 24 V Comfort / Performance stat on ABCD will not drive 59MN7 / 59TN6. That is the wrong bus, not a COMM sensor.

  3. 3 Same two-digit, different physics on MN7 vs TN6

    Events that say pressure / inducer: on 59TN6 (two-stage Infinity) 31/32 are discrete low vs high pressure switches — ohm them. On 59MN7 (modulating) 31/42 is a pressure BAND; there is no 32 low-fire switch to replace. Limit and ignition events still map to 33/13 and 34/14. Blower RPM is 41 — Infinity CFM request, not a 59TP6 model plug.

    Expect: 59MN7 vs 59TN6 named from the rating plate before any switch is ordered.

    If it fails: 59TP6 InteliSense is not Infinity. Swapping this wall control onto a 59TP6 does not make ABCD.

  4. 4 Blank screen, fuse 24, then stop converting

    24 VAC R to C at the control. Then ABCD landing and polarity. Code 24 on the IFC is the 24 V fuse — often someone put 24 V on D. Replace the fuse only after the short is gone. Do not jumper W to ‘get heat tonight’ as the repair.

    Expect: Control powered, one Infinity device, fuse intact for a reason.

    If it fails: Load 59MN7 or 59TN6 in Diagnose and type the live event (COMM, 31, 32, 24).

Field notes

  • Bryant Evolution SYSTX is the same bus family as Carrier Infinity. 987M = 59MN7. 986T = 59TN6. 926T is not on this bus.
  • Outdoor pair belongs on ABCD (25VNA / Greenspeed class). A single-stage contactor outdoor on this control is a mismatch event waiting to happen.
  • Type wall-control English in Diagnose — COMM, mismatch, 31 — with the indoor plate.
